Ministry Of Religion Temporarily Freezes Permits For 4 Umrah Organizers
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion has temporarily frozen the business licenses of four Umrah Travel Organizers (PPIU), because they are considered to have failed to provide services for their Umrah participants.
"During the suspension of business permits and temporary suspension, the users of id Siskopatuh from the four PPIUs will be blocked," said Director General of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Religion, Hilman Latief, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 10.
The four PPIUs that were sanctioned were PT Amana Berkah Mandiri, PT Arafah Mina, PT Mubina Fifa Mandiri, and PT Arafah Medina Jaya.
Three PPIUs, namely PT Amana Berkah Mandiri, PT Arofa Mina and PT Mubina Fifa Mandiri, were proven to have committed a violation in the form of failing to dispatch Umrah pilgrims after 3x24 hours.
Meanwhile, PT. Arafah Medina Jaya, was proven to have committed a violation in the form of failing to send Umrah pilgrims past the time limit of 1x24 hours and failed to return Umrah pilgrims past the time limit of 1x24 hours.
"The four PPIUs are subject to administrative sanctions ranging from six months (for PT Arafah Medina Jaya) to one year (PT Amana Berkah Mandiri, Arafah Mina, and Mubina Fufa Mandiri)," he said.

Hilman said the sanctions were given after the monitoring, supervision, and request for information as outlined in the Minutes of Request for Information (BAPK).
According to him, during the administrative sanctions, the four PPIUs were not allowed to accept registration and were not allowed to dispatch Umrah pilgrims.
"In addition, PPIU must reschedule the departure of Umrah pilgrims, as well as return the costs for those who cancel their departures," he said.
