ITDC Boss: Mandalika Is An Area, Circuit Is Only A Small Part
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pembangunan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Ari Respati said the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) is a large area. He emphasized that the circuit is only a small part of the area.
Furthermore, Ari revealed that the Mandalika SEZ has an area of 1,175 hectares (ha). Even the area is three times that of Nusa Dua Bali.
"It turns out that Mandalika is not just a circuit. I just found out in the first week. Mandalika is an area that is almost three times more than Nusa Dua. I just realized that the circuit is part of a development program in the area," Ari said at a press conference in Jakarta, written Wednesday, August 9.
Ari said his party was focusing on accelerating the development of Mandalika. He hopes ITDC can complete Mandalika's development within 10 years.
"I'm sure it can be accelerated, if possible 10 years, thank God," he said.
Ari said, in the development of the Mandalika SEZ, his party has built a 37 kilometer (km) area road. In addition, there is also the construction of the Pullman Hotel, as well as the Mandalika Circuit.

Meanwhile, ITDC's Director of Business Development, Ema Widiastuti, said that to build various other projects, ITDC also collaborated with various investors.
For example, said Ema, for accommodation, commercial facilities, to attractions. One that is being built by investors is the Equistrian Estate covering an area of 25 ha.
"Commodation, commercial, and areas are indeed created for attractions. That is the main goal of ITDC when entering the tourism area," he said.
