BMW Vision Neue Classe Concept Starts Production On September 2
JAKARTA - BMW, a well-known German automaker, has announced that the BMW Vision Neue Classe concept is almost ready to enter the production stage which is scheduled to start on September 2.
The opening of this production coincides with Neue Classe's original 60th anniversary, an innovation that changes the car's panoramic and presents a revolutionary look at its time.
Neue Classe is an ambitious project that BMW is working on in welcoming the upcoming era of technology. The project aims to play a significant role in the anticipated evolution of technology in the coming years.
BMW AG management chairman Oliver Zipse explained that launching a series of products with the most up-to-date technology will help BMW achieve success and maintain their innovative position in the coming decades.
"Again, we are turning the vision into a reality: I promise you that BMW Vision Neue Classe is almost ready to enter production stage and will be introduced soon," Zipse said in a statement on BMW Group's official website on Thursday, August 3.
Once the Neue Classe concept is ready to be produced, BMW plans to launch six models that use the basis of the concept within 24 months of production starting. In fact, it is likely that the Mini brand will also adopt the basis or platform Neue Classe in the second half of this decade.
The manufacturer, centered in Munich, Germany, will start production of the first electric-based Neue Classe (EV) in 2025 in Debrecen, Hungary. Meanwhile, the Munich plant will start production in 2026.
This step will be followed by a factory in Shenyang, China, which is scheduled to start production in 2026. In addition, BMW has also allocated a 500 million euro investment to expand production capacity at the San Luis Potosi plant, Mexico. It is hoped that this factory can start production of Neue Classe and battery packages by 2027.
The plan, the recently introduced BMW i Vision Dee concept will be one of the models of the Neue Classe lineup. The car features a minimalist and futuristic design, with two BMWian grilles adorning the front.
Not only in the exterior, the concept of i Vision Dee also presents a minimalist interior display with efficient settings. In addition, the projection of head-up information will be available throughout the width of the windshield.
