BMKG Reminds Tangerang Residents to Be Alert of Drought Peaks

TANGERANG - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded residents of Tangerang City to be aware of the impact of drought at the peak of the dry season along with the El Nino phenomenon.

The head of the Banten Climatology Station, Apolinaris Samsudin Geru, said the areas that were included in the alert category were the Ciledug, Pinang and Karang Tengah sub-districts.

"As for the standby category, such as Batuceper, Jatiuwung, Karawaci, and Priuk Districts," said Geru in his statement, Thursday, August 3.

Apol also said that apart from Tangerang City, two other regions, South Tangerang and Tangerang Regency, were also included in the alert category.

"Tangerang Regency is an area that is in the alert category, namely Mauk District. Meanwhile in South Tangerang, such as in North Serpong District," he concluded.
