Hilux GR Sport, Tangguh Bertenaga Pickup From Toyota For Australian Market

Toyota has introduced its flagship truck pickup, Hilux GR Sport, to the Australian market in response to consumer demand for a high-power truck pickup.

Reporting from the Paultan page on Friday, July 28, Hilux GR Sport offers a more dashing look using the Toyota sports division emblem, Gazoo Racing (GR), making this vehicle very reliable in various conditions.

The Hilux GR Sport pickup uses the same platform as the Hilux Rogue, but its size is increased. The height of this pickup rose 15 mm, and the front and rear widths were increased by 135 mm and 155 mm, respectively compared to other variants.

The difference with the Rogue version is in the back suspension. GR Sport is equipped with a KYB monotube shock damping with a larger piston diameter. The removal of the back corner bar also allows for a larger and more reliable doubles articulation when facing uneven road surfaces.

To improve stability in the off-road field, Toyota pinned Bridgestone tires 265/65 R17 Dueler AT with 17-inch alloy black rims "Dakar Style" tough.

The Hilux display looks very muscular with a sturdy body, a large grip with the "TOYOTA" emblem, and the "GR" logo on the front. The front bumper is also redesigned to provide a better angle.

This pickup is equipped with a wider black overfender and has an aero channel on the front to reduce clashes on the wheel arch.

In addition to the upgrade, Toyota has also embedded a powered engine for Hilux GR Sport. Powered by a 1GD 2.8 liter turbodiesel engine, Hilux GR Sport can generate up to 221 dk and a 550 Nm torque with six accelerations to improve performance.

Toyota Hilux GR Sport is available in five exterior colors, including Glacier White, Frosted White, Stuck Silver, Eclipse Black, and Fever Red. For Frosted White and Fever Red, there is a choice of a black roof.

The tough pickup that challenges the Ranger Raptor will be available in Australian showrooms in September at a price of 73,990 Australian dollars or around Rp745.4 million.
