Bintang Muay Thai Buakaw Banchamek Bakal Satu Ring Dengan Manny Pacquiao

JAKARTA Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao and Muay Thai fighter Buakaw Banchamek agreed to get into the ring for the duel. The two will meet in an exhibition match. Manny and Buakaw have met for the first time on stage at Icon Siam Park in downtown Bangkok, the Kingdom of Thailand on Friday, July 21 yesterday, to promote their duel which will be held in the first quarter of 2024. Pacquiao (44), a world champion in eight different classes and Buakaw (41), a retired Muay Thai star, has agreed to duel in a six-round 70 kg boxing match. The fight has been dubbed the "Legal Fight".Masing-masin round will last for three minutes with a break of two minutes. The break time is one minute longer than the official boxing match. The meeting between Pacquiao will take place under boxing regulations so Buakaw will only be allowed to use his hands. This is clearly a new experience for Buakaw as this Thai star was previously a fighter in Muay Thai discipline. In a press conference, Pacquiao revealed his excitement could return to Thailand, the country where he won his first world title.

"I'm happy to be back here. My last fight here was in 1998," said Pacquiao, who is full of smiles as reported by Boxing Scene. The boxer nicknamed Pacman added that he would try hard to be in top condition for this exhibition match. In addition, he is also confident that he can win over Buakaw.

"I have to prepare myself, because I know that I will need at least 90 percent to face Buakaw," said the 44-year-old veteran. However, it was not stated exactly how much each boxer would receive. The promoter of this duel only assured viewers that the total investment for this event was around 25 million US dollars.
