Apple Ready To Move ChatGPT And Bard Markets With New AI Chatbots

JAKARTA - Apple does not want to be left behind from the competition for generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) devices, the company is reportedly preparing to challenge OpenAI, Google and Microsoft.

According to Mark Gurman's report in his Power On bulletin at Bloomberg, the tech giant has created an internal chatbot called Apple GPT.

Although the company has not yet determined a strategy to release the technology to consumers, they have built their own framework, known as Ajax.

Ajax was created to create an AI-based Big Language Model (LLM) and as a base for Apple GPT, supporting similar offers to Open AI's ChatGPT and Bard's Google.

Started developing last year, Ajax runs on Google Cloud and builds with Google JAX, a search giant machine learning framework.

The ambitious project is led by John Giannandrea, the company's chief machine and AI learning officer, and Craig Federighi, Apple's leading software engineering executive.

One of the sources familiar with this stated that Apple employees can only use Apple GPT internally with special approval to assist in the manufacture of product prototypes.

Chatbots can also be used to summarize text and answer questions based on the data they have trained.

Similar to ChatGPT, Bard and Bing Chat, Apple GPT also does not display any additional features that separate it from what is currently commercially available.

Unfortunately, it is not known for sure when the service can be launched publicly. However, rumors circulating Apple will launch its chatbot next year. This was quoted from TechCrunch, Thursday, July 20.
