Government Waits For DPR To Schedule Discussion On The PPRT Bill
JAKARTA - The government is still waiting for the DPR to schedule a discussion of the Draft Law on the Protection of Domestic Workers (RUU PPRT).
"We are waiting for an invitation from the DPR. The government is currently waiting, because the ball is in the DPR," said Deputy for Women's Rights Protection of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) Ratna Susianawati, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 18.
Ratna Susianawati said that currently the government has resolved and submitted the Inventory List of Problems (DIM) of the PPRT Bill to the DPR.
"By sending an official letter from the president, including DIM, it means that the government's readiness is unquestionable. Whenever discussed (the PPRT Bill), the government is ready," he said.
The government through the Team for the Acceleration of the Formation of the Law on the Protection of Domestic Workers (UU PPRT) proposed 367 Lists of Problem Inventory.

Of the 367 DIM proposed by the government, 79 DIMs have become the focus of new substance.
The PPRT Bill not only protects PRT, but also protects employers, Household Worker Placement Institutions (LPPRT), and everything that includes PRT minimum age clauses as an effort to prevent child labor, regulation and work relationship mechanisms, recognition of domestic rights, such as appropriate wages and leave, as well as supervision in the process of placement and protection of domestic workers.
