A Month Reveals 8 Drug Cases In Sukabumi, Police Claim Save 6 Thousand People
The police uncovered 8 drug cases and arrested 12 suspects in the city and district of Sukabumi, West Java. The arrests were made over the past month.
"We have arrested 12 suspects from eight cases revealed by the Sukabumi City Police Narcotics Unit," said Sukabumi City Police Chief AKBP Ari Setyawan Wibowo in Sukabumi, West Java, Monday, June 26, confiscated by Antara.
Of the eight drug cases, 4 cases were revealed in Sukabumi City, namely 2 in Warudoyong District, 1 case each in Gunungpuyuh District and Baros District.
Meanwhile, in Sukabumi Regency, five cases were revealed, including 2 in Cisaat District, 1 in Sukaraja District, and 1 Kebonpedes.
According to Ari, of the 12 suspects arrested, 13.43 grams of crystal methamphetamine were confiscated, 747.43 grams of dried marijuana, 104 psychotropic substances, and 5,613 illegal hard drugs.
In addition, the police also confiscated a bong, an ATM card, 12 mobile phones of various brands used for transactions and Rp260 thousand in cash, which was suspected of being the money from the sale of the illicit goods.

Old methods such as using couriers or directly meeting buyers and dealers are also still being carried out.
"The disclosure of drug cases carried out by the Sukabumi City Police Narcotics Unit managed to save around 6 thousand lives from the dangers of latent drugs," Ari claimed.
Ari said that the narcotics dealer suspects were charged with Article 112 paragraphs 1 and 2, Article 114 paragraphs 1 and 2 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 12 years.
Meanwhile, for dealers or abusers of illegal hard drugs, they are charged under Article 196, Article 197 UURI Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of 15 years.
