After Going To India, China And South Korea Continued So The Reason Syahrul Yasin Limpo Asked To Be Investigated By The KPK At The End Of June
JAKARTA - Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo confirmed that he asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to postpone his investigation regarding the investigation into alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture today. The reason is that SYL, his nickname, is on duty abroad.
"I attended a meeting of the G20 Agriculture Ministers in India. Indonesia, which has been trusted as the 2022 G20 Presidency, should of course be present at the closing of the International event," Syahrul said in a written statement, Friday, June 16.
After that Syahrul Yasin Limpo will visit China and South Korea.
"In order to strengthen cooperation in agricultural modernization and agricultural export market facilities," he said
This reason made the NasDem politician ask for his examination to be postponed until Tuesday, June 27. This is because the overseas trip cannot be abandoned.
"So I have not been able to fulfill the KPK's invitation today not at all because of personal matters, but in order to carry out state duties," said SYL.
Meanwhile, Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said investigators would send a recall letter on Monday, June 19. Syahrul is expected to fulfill the request for information.
"The investigative team immediately sent back the invitation for information to be present on Monday, June 19, 2023," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Friday, June 16.
Syahrul's statement is needed in the effort to take action, said Ali. "So that we can immediately carry out an analysis to determine the next stance at the stage of this investigation process," he said.
