Before Deportation, Immigration Maumere Transfers US Citizens To Kupang Rudenim
The Maumere Immigration Office, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) transferred the detention of RK a foreign citizen (WNA) with United States citizenship to the Kupang Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) before being deported to his home country. Head of the Intelligence Section of the Maumere Immigration Office, Hendy Kurnia Darmawan, said that RK was a US foreigner who was previously detained by the Maumere Immigration because he did not have complete immigration documents. "The RK was secured and detained by the Maumere Immigration on May 31 because he did not have a passport," said Hendy, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8. Hendy added that the arrest of RK was carried out after reports came in from the Waigete Police Chief, Sikka Police who were members of the sub-district level (Timpora) surveillance team. When arrested and checked at the Maumere Immigration, RK admitted that his passport was lost. However, RK showed his passport on his device.. We also checked his residence permit, and it turns out that his residence permit has expired on May 25, 2023," he added.Kupang Rudenim Section Head Melsy Fanggi said that RK was already in the Kupang Rudenim and is currently in good health.
