South Sumatra Police Name Suspect In Infrastructure Project Bribery Case In Muratara

PALEMBANG - The South Sumatra Regional Police have named a suspect in the alleged bribery of infrastructure work projects at the Public Works and Public Settlements Office of North Musi Rawas Regency (Muratara) for the 2017 fiscal year. Deputy Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the South Sumatra Police AKBP Putu Yudha said the suspect had the initials FNSD alias Sisco is a private contractor suspected of bribing the Secretary of the PUPR Office of Muratara Ardiansyah Regency who has been a defendant. "The preparation was carried out by the suspect Sisco to win the project for the installation of a distribution pipeline network in Rawas Ulu District, Muratara Regency, 2017," he said as requested by the panel of judges who revealed Sismo's involvement in the case that ensnared Ardiansyah. "Among them, Sisco is suspected of giving bribes of 15 percent or Rp50 million to the defendant Ardiansyah as a commitment to get a project that has a tender value of Rp1.4 billion," said Yudha.

Investigators have now transferred the case file of Sisco to the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office for the adequacy of evidence and strengthened by information as many as 22 witnesses. The suspect was charged with violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letters a, b and/or Article 12 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

"The file has been completed and has been transferred to the Prosecutor's Office. Other things in full (will be explained) according to the next legal proof mechanism (trial)," he said.
