Apple Introduces Many New IOS 17 Features And Improvements At WWDC 2023, Let's Take A Peek!
JAKARTA - Still in the 2023 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple announced a large number of new features iOS 17.
In this new Operating System (OS), Apple brings a huge improvement to the communication experience on Phone, FaceTime, and Messages, where users will more easily, quickly share with AirDrop and improve automatic corrections.
"With iOS 17, we make the iPhone more personal and intuitive by taking into account the features we all rely on every day. We can't wait for everyone to give it a try," said Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi.
Berikut ini fitur-fitur baru dan peningkatan yang paling menonjol dibawa oleh Apple untuk iOS 17, dikutip Selasa, 6 Juni.
1. Journal application
iOS 17 also introduced a new experience with Journal, an application that can store various types of content including contacts, locations, music, photos, podcasts, and sports.
2. Contact Poster on Phone
The user's Phone app will see a personalized Contact Poster, providing a new way for users to express themselves.
Users can customize their appearance, typography and interesting font colors. Contact Posters will also be available for third-party calling applications.
3. Improved Direct Voice Messages
This feature gives users the ability to view real-time transcriptions when a person leaves a voicemail, and the opportunity to answer when a caller leaves his message. With the power of the Neural Engine, the Live Voicemail transcription is handled on the device and remains entirely private.
4. FaceTime gets a new feature
FaceTime now supports audio and video messages so that when users call someone who is not available, they can share messages that can be viewed later.
FaceTime calls are also becoming more expressive with Reactions. There are also new effects that can be activated through simple moves and third-party video calling apps can also take advantage of them.
Now, FaceTime is also here for Apple TV 4K and supported by Continuity Camera, users can start live video calls from Apple TV, or on iPhone and then forward them to Apple TV, to see friends and family on their television.

5. Messages Presents Improvements
Apple presents a new emoji sticker and the ability to create Live Stickers by lifting the subject from photos on the Messages app. Users can also add effects to the Live Stickers that turn it on, and a new drawer on the keyboard places all user stickers in one place for easier access on iOS.
Messages also introduced Check In, an important feature when the user wants to let him know he has arrived at his destination safely to his family or friends.
If they do not achieve the goal, useful information will be shared temporarily with selected contacts, such as device location, battery level, and cellular service status. Any information shared is end-to-end encrypted.
6. AirDrop gets NameDDrop
The company presents a new way to share on AirDrop with NameDDrop. Users can easily share contact information just by uniting their iPhone, or Apple Watch. With the same movement, users can also share content or start SharePlay to listen to music, watch movies, or play games in close proximity between iPhone devices.
7. Automatic Correction
Users will now receive a recommendation for a line of predictive text when they type, adding entire words or completing sentences as easily as tapping the spatial bar, making text entry faster than ever. Dikte takes advantage of a new speech recognition model to make it more accurate.
8. StandBy
iOS 17 introduces StandBy, a new way to view quick information when the iPhone is charging and can be viewed remotely. This feature can be personalized to display a variety of beautiful clock styles, favorite photos, or widgets, including Smart Stacks, which give rise to widgets on time.
With support for Live Activities, Siri, incoming calls, and larger notifications, StandBy makes the iPhone even more useful when viewed remotely.
9. Safari Becomes Safer
Safari adds greater protection for Personal Exploration, both from trackers as users explore, as well as from people who may have access to user devices. Further tracking and fingerprint protection go a step further to help prevent websites from tracking or identifying user devices.
Private exploration is now locked when unused, allowing users to keep tabs open even as they move away from the device.
10. Siri Leave The Word 'Hey'
Now to enable Siri, users no longer need to say 'Hey Siri!' but only 'Siri'. Once enabled, users can issue multiple commands in sequence without the need to reactivate the assistant.
11. iOS 17 Makes the iPhone Safer
Apple also brings privacy updates including expanding Communication Security outside Messages to help kids stay safe when sending and receiving content via AirDrop, Contact Poster, FaceTime messages, and when using Photo voters to select the content to be sent. It's also expanded to cover video content other than stationary images.
The new feature, Sensitive Content Warning, helps adult users avoid seeing unwanted nude images and videos. Like Communication Security, all image and video processing for Sensitive Content Warning occurs on devices, so Apple doesn't get access to the content.
12. AirTag Can Accommodate Many People
Finally, AirTag can now be shared with up to five people. Where friends and family can track items on Find My. Everyone in the group will be able to view item locations, play sounds, and use Precision Search to help determine the location of AirTag together while nearby. It also works with all other Find My network accessories.
For information, currently iOS 17 is only available in the developer beta version, and public beta will be available next month. For the stable version, Apple said it would be launched towards the end of the year.
However, Apple warns, some features may not be available in all regions, all languages, or on all devices.
