Joe Benarroch, Former NBCUniversal, Joins Twitter To Focus On Business Operations

JAKARTA - Joe Benarroch, a former NBCUniversal executive, will join Twitter on Monday 5 June with a focus on business operations.

Benarroch said in an email that he hopes to work with the company's team to "Build version 2.0 Twitter together".

"Welcome to our group, @angkaroch_joe! From one bird to the next bird," tweeted Linda Yaccarino, the newly appointed Twitter CEO in May. He did not mention the position Benarroch would take.

In NBCUniversal, which is part of Comcast Corp., Benarroch oversees communication strategies for the Advertising and Partnerships divisions, by reporting to Yaccarino, who previously served as head of advertising there before joining Twitter.

Benarroch was appointed to replace several executives who had left, adding to the challenges for Yacarino.

Twitter's head of trust and security, Ella Irwin, announced her resignation from the social media company on Thursday, May 31.

On Friday, June 1, Reuters reported that its chief brand security and advertising quality, AJ Brown, had decided to leave Twitter.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the appointment of Benarroch on Sunday, June 4.
