Polda Metro Jaya Detects Coldplay Ticket Fraud Perpetrators In South Sulawesi
The Special Criminal Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has again detected a group of perpetrators of fraudulent British band concert tickets, Coldplay in the South Sulawesi region.
"We, the cyber sub-directorate, are conducting an in-depth investigation or investigation. The results of the investigation show that the group of perpetrators is in one of the areas in South Sulawesi," said Head of Cyber Unit of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya AKP Charles Bagasar as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 31.
Charles explained that he had sent a team to follow up on the findings in order to immediately arrest the fraudster's gang.
"We have sent a team to follow up on these findings. Currently the team has left for the area and we hope for prayers from colleagues so that the perpetrators can be caught. And we can reveal and find out behind the fraud mode," he said.
Charles also explained that the reports of varying amounts of losses ranged from millions to hundreds of millions.
"Varriative losses range from Rp. 10 million to hundreds of millions, we are currently still investigating the alleged perpetrators we are pursuing," he said.
For the modus operandi of the perpetrators, Charles explained that there were various modes ranging from deposit services (jastip), then offered to purchase tickets through social media, and also claimed to be people who had access to the sale of concert tickets.

As previously reported, investigators from the Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) Bareskrim Polri examined two witnesses from Coldplay concert promoter, PK Entertainment.
"Yesterday, Wednesday (24/5) a clarification was carried out by investigators from the National Police's Cyber Directorate against the promoter," said Head of the National Police's Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan.
Ramadhan said the two witnesses had the initials TH and HS from PK Entertainment as promoters of Coldplay concert tickets. Both were examined for clarification regarding licensing and ticket sales mechanisms as well as supervision.
"The two people were examined or taken information from 20.00 to 24.00 WIB with 20 questions," said Ramadhan.
According to Brigadier General Ramadhan, the investigation related to the alleged criminal act of fraudulent online sales of Coldplay concert tickets via social media has not been completed and will continue.
