Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Encourages Young Figures To Become Vice Presidential Candidates
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that he would no longer run in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres), despite the request.
"I'm old, I've told you my age has entered 81, there are still many young people," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24. Initially, the Vice President was asked about his statement inviting the presidential candidates to elect a vice presidential candidate from the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) circles who according to him had good abilities.
The vice president was reluctant to mention the names of NU figures specifically, but he invited the presidential candidates to choose them.
"Everything has been in touch with me, so yes, of course, please choose it, right," said the Vice President.
