Ministry Of Religion Departs 393 Candidates For Hajj First Cluster Of Jakarta Embarkation
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) dispatched 393 prospective pilgrims for the first batch of Hajj from the Jakarta Embarkation tonight.
"Tonight we departed the first batch of Jakarta Hajj Embarkation candidates as many as 385 people from South Jakarta and Alhamdulillah have carried out health checks and are ready to depart," said Director General (Dirjen) of Hajj and Umrah (PHU) at the Ministry of Religion Hilman Latief as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 23.
Hilman said pilgrims for Hajj candidates would be met with other pilgrims at Soekarno Hatta International Airport (Soetta) and would be released nationally.
He mentioned that in this group there are the oldest pilgrims with the age of 82 years and the youngest pilgrims with the age of 24 years and 14 prospective pilgrims who use wheelchairs.
"As this year we made a service with the theme of the elderly friendly Hajj, so we are really preparing it so that the assistance is maximized," said Hilman.
The pilgrims who depart tonight will go straight to Medina, Saudi Arabia, to rest first and can start visiting places such as the Prophet's Grave, the Prophet's Mosque, and other places around Medina.

Based on the data obtained, the 393 people departing consisted of 385 prospective pilgrims with details of 165 men and 220 women and 8 officers of the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH). The pilgrims for Hajj are dispatched using the 10 buses that have been provided.
The pilgrims are scheduled to fly at 00.30 WIB using Garuda Indonesia aircraft with flight number GA7301.
