Police Raided, 2 Drug Dealers In Asahan, North Sumatra Plung Into The River

The personnel of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sei Kepayang Police, Asahan Police, raided two drug dealers. However, the perpetrators were desperate to jump into the river in Sei Apung Jaya Village, Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra.

The two drug dealers fled and jumped into a river where the water was quite heavy when they were chased by police officers, Friday (19/5).

"We received information from the public that in an empty house on the border between Sei Apung Jaya Village, Tanjung Balai District and Perjuangan Village, Teluk Nibung District, Tanjung Balai City, there are drug buying and selling transactions that have disturbed residents of Sei Apung Jaya Village," said Sei Kepayang Police Chief AKP Sutari as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 20.

Sutari said that when the police received the information, the Sei Kepayang Police Criminal Investigation Unit personnel left for the identified location.

Arriving at the scene, officers saw that two men were in an empty house. Seeing the arrival of the police, the two perpetrators fled and jumped into the river.

"The two perpetrators managed to escape, personnel only found 62 small plastic clips containing crystal grains suspected of being methamphetamine, three electric scales, a large package of empty plastic clips, and a red tutoring gold wallet," he said.

In addition, one tablespoon of methamphetamine is made of plastic pipettes, one Nokia brand cellphone is blue, 223 small packs of envelopes suspected of being dried marijuana, five packs containing suspected dried marijuana, and one 2 kg household scale.

Although the two drug dealers managed to escape, the team is still hunting down the two perpetrators.

"The police suspect they are still hiding in Sei Apung Jaya Village, Tanjung Balai District, Tanjung Balai City," said Sutari.
