Lionel Messi Will Not Extend Contract And Choose To Play In Saudi Arabia Next Season
JAKARTA Lionel Messi is said to not be extending his tenure with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He will reportedly sign a big contract with one of the Saudi Arabian clubs that has not been named.
This information was leaked by a source who was aware of the negotiation process being carried out by the international Argentine star with one of the giants in the mysterious Middle East.
"Messi has reached an agreement. He will play in Saudi Arabia next season," the source, who did not want to be named, told the AFP news agency.
Messi's contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire at the end of June this year. However, until now there has been no sign of both sides to extend their cooperation.
PSG itself has not confirmed whether to maintain or release Messi. Meanwhile, Messi's father, Jorge, has repeatedly emphasized that the child has not decided where he will play next season amid rumors with the Saudi Arabian club.
However, Messi is not expected to stay in Paris. According to the sources above, if PSG intends to detain the 2022 World Cup winner then the contract extension offer should have been offered long ago.
"His contract [with the Saudi Arabian club] is extraordinary. It's huge. We've just finished some small details," said a source who doesn't have the authority to talk to the media.
