Pinka Hapsari Putri Puan Maharani Becomes A DPR Candidate From PDIP

JAKARTA - The daughter of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, Diah Pikatan Orissa Putri Hapsari, or Pinka Hapsari, is on the PDI-P legislative candidate list.

"There is Mbak Pinka who has indeed participated in the regeneration, staying at the Party School for 3 days," said PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.

However, Hasto did not reveal the electoral district that was the location of Pinka Hapsari's contest in politics.

Hasto said the PDI-P, in recruiting, is looking for candidates who can come from anywhere.

Family is one of the main environments that is part of political education. Thus, the candidates can also emerge from the family environment that is involved in politics, such as Puan Maharani's family.

This condition also occurs in other democratic countries such as in the United States and Singapore.

"The party continues to recruit through political education and regeneration. One of the recruitment processes does come from the family," said Hasto.

Nevertheless, Hasto said the PDI-P was also open to figures who wanted to join.

"The proof is that there were retired TNI / Polri, there were academics, cultural figures and artists, including young people," he said.

PDI-P handed over 580 names of candidates for DPR members to the General Election Commission, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta.

Hasto explained that 48 percent of the PDI-P legislators are young people aged 45 years and under.
