PT AP I: Buffaloes In Lombok Airport Area Disrupt Aviation
PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok International Airport, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) stated that the presence of buffalo herded by residents in the airport's restricted area has the potential to interfere with flight operations and safety.
"The buffalo farm that is herded in the airport area has the potential to disrupt flight operations," said Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok Arif Hariyanto Airport, in Praya as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.
In addition to disrupting flight activities, the presence of the buffalo also dirty the streets and main roads for access to cargo. His party together with the joint TNI-Polri apparatus and Satpol PP have carried out control in order to realize flight safety and operational security at Lombok Airport.
"Given that the buffalo grazing activity in the airport area is quite disturbing flight operations, so it is disciplined," he said.
He also appealed to the public, especially livestock owners, not to carry out animal grazing activities in the airport's prohibited areas. This is because the movement of these animals has the potential to disrupt airport operations.
"We as airport managers are obliged to prioritize aspects of flight safety and security in accordance with national and international provisions and procedures," he said.

Previously, the joint apparatus of the Central Lombok Regency Satpol PP, TNI/Polri had carried out control activities against livestock in the Lombok Airport area, Wednesday (10/5).
Before this control was carried out, several times socialization activities had been carried out directly to the owners of these livestock. Among them were carried out at the Pujut Sub-district Office for buffalo owners from Pujut District and at the Penujak Village Office for buffalo owners from West Praya District.
"In this socialization, livestock owners promised to remove the buffalo from the airport area," said Head of Central Lombok Regency Satpol PP, Lalu Rinjani.
He said the warning letter had also been submitted to owners and herders. However, because these various efforts were not heeded, firm action was taken through this combined control.
"We control hundreds of buffalo together, sometimes livestock made in the Lombok Airport area for flight safety," he said.
