Not Coalition, Gerindra Makes Sure To Compete With PDIP In The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - The chairman of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party DPD, Ahmad Riza Patria, has ensured that his party will not form a coalition with the PDIP of Struggle in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
According to him, Gerindra will compete with PDIP because it is unanimous to carry the General Chair, Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate). Meanwhile, the party bearing the bull symbol has announced Ganjar Pranowo.
"In the end, we have to compete. Because the Gerindra Party has decided Pak Prabowo as the 2024 presidential candidate, and recently PDIP has also decided that Mas Ganjar is the presidential candidate," said Riza in Jakarta, Monday, May 8.
Riza said that his party respects the political stance of other parties. Therefore, he said, Gerindra is ready to compete in a healthy manner and ready to compete with ideas with other candidates.
"We respect the choices of each party, and let's compete well, be healthy and peaceful with the vision and mission," said the former deputy governor of DKI Jakarta.
Even so, Riza said Gerindra would still establish good relations with PDIP. Moreover, according to him, the two parties have a long history since the era of President Soekarno.
