Coordination With The Lampung Police, Metro Jaya Police Chief Orders Members To Investigate The Profile Of The Perpetrators

JAKARTA - The police investigated the shooting incident at the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) office in Menteng, Central Jakata, Tuesday, May 2, at around 10:00 WIB.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto said he had asked his staff to explore the background of the perpetrators. In fact, he has asked to coordinate with the Lampung Regional Police to investigate the perpetrator's integrity.

"We got a profile in question, we will coordinate with the Lampung Regional Police because the person concerned has an ID card. From the crime scene, a KTP was found domiciled in Lampung," Karyoto told reporters at the Central Jakarta MUI Office,

"Our members will immediately go to Lampung to coordinate how the background of this suspect is. We will investigate whether the person concerned has a disease and others, we cannot conclude yet," he continued.

Karyoto also said that the shooter would be autopsied to determine the cause of death.

"We will do an autopsy later. What are the reasons, whether the person concerned has a disease or others, we cannot conclude yet," he concluded.

Previously, it was reported that the shooting took place at the office of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Menteng, Central Jakarta. The perpetrator is said to have died behind the series of shootings.

"The perpetrator has died," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komaruddin when confirmed, Tuesday, May 2.

However, the cause of the death behind the shooting has yet to be conveyed. The reason is that this matter is still waiting for information from members at the scene.

It is only conveyed if there is only one perpetrator of the shooting. "Yes, we are currently processing the crime scene, examining witnesses and so on," he said.
