Meta Launches Body Shape Options for Creating Avatars on its Platform
JAKARTA - Since the appearance of Avatar Meta for the first time in 2019, the technology giant has now announced that more than one billion avatars have been created across its platforms.
Seeing the high interest, Meta has finally provided some improvements to Avatar Meta that will help freshen up your look, through its latest collaboration with the well-known brand, PUMA.
"We added several new avatar body shapes to help you express yourself better. We also partnered with PUMA to bring seven outfits to the Meta Avatars Store," Meta wrote in the announcement.
Introducing a New Body Shape
Everyone is different, and every body is different. As such, Meta adds new body shape options that are available when you create your avatar. With this option, you can make it as close to yourself as possible.
"Starting this month, you can choose from a wide range of body shapes, including two more curvy body shapes. We're enhancing some of the options available to help differentiate between them too," she adds.
Hair and Clothing Textures
Beyond body shape options, Meta has also revamped the look of avatar hair, clothing, and eyes in stickers, profile pictures, cover photos, and more, adding additional detail and realism to hair and clothing.

New PUMA Look
Last year Meta introduced the Avatar Shop, a one-stop shop for customizing your avatar on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and in VR. Since its launch, Meta has presented clothing from some of the world's leading fashion, sports and lifestyle brands such as Madhappy, NBA, Prada and Thom Browne.
Through their latest collaboration with PUMA, they are now available to list, and Meta will begin offering seven PUMA lifestyle styles starting May 1.
