D-10 Lebaran 2023, CCTV Camera At Staregis Point Semarang City Alerted
Entering the H-10 Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri, the condition of the monitoring camera or CCTV installed at strategic locations in Semarang City was checked.
Checks were made by the Semarang City Communications and Information Office (Diskominfo) to ensure the device functions well to support security supervision during the 2023 Eid moment.
"There are several reports of damage or repair needs (CCTV) from the community related to this Lebaran preparation," said Semarang City Head of Diskominfo Soenarto in Semarang, Central Java, Wednesday, April 12, as quoted by Antara.
Diskominfo, he continued, followed up on public reports by checking the condition of CCTV and making improvements if necessary.
He said the agency prioritized checking and repairing CCTV in strategic places such as crowd centers and entrances to settlements or villages.
"We have asked the team to calculate everywhere (the damaged CCTV) to be repaired immediately. Mainly, we provide directions to be a priority, namely strategic places," he said.
CCTV is reported to be damaged and according to the results of the check, Soenarto said, it will be replaced with a new device.
"We are trying to do some of this because some are damaged and it is impossible to fix them. Even though there are not many, we have a budget for replacement. Yes, especially in strategic places first," he said.

Soenarto hopes that the community will proactively report the condition of CCTV devices that require maintenance and repair in the surrounding environment.
According to city government data, there are around 10 thousand CCTVs installed in various locations to support environmental surveillance efforts.
Semarang Mayor Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu conveyed the importance of supporting CCTV devices in surveillance and regional security activities.
He wants regional surveillance and security efforts to be optimized ahead of Eid, when many houses are empty because they are left behind by their owners going home.
