Iron Bangku Tourist Location In Siak Kerap Stolen By Thieves, Police Arrest 8 Perpetrators
JAKARTA - The Siak Police have arrested a gang of perpetrators of theft of iron benches at the Taman Turap "Water Front City" tourist site in Siak City or Turap Singapore.
Temporary Official of the Head of the Siak Police Satreskrim Iptu Tony Prawira said the arrests of the eight perpetrators of the theft were the result of an intensive investigation by the Siak Police Satreskrim Team for several days.
"From us, we received the initial report of the theft incident, on the orders and directions of the Chief of Police, so we immediately started an investigation into who and where the perpetrator was," said Tony, Monday, April 3, as quoted by Antara.
The theft on Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kampung Dalam Village, Siak District occurred on Sunday, February 26, 2023. The eight perpetrators, namely RH (48), W (18), AG (21), MS (17), M (17), FF (18), EA (15), and MA (17).
"The eight Siak residents were secured along with evidence of a motorcycle rickshaw used by the perpetrators when carrying out their actions," he explained.
They were arrested when on April 1, 2023, information was obtained that it was suspected that the perpetrator was in the vicinity of Jalan Hang Tuah, Rempak Village, Siak District.
" Led by Kanit I Satreskrim Siak Police Ipda Fuad Aprima, the Opsnal Team immediately arrested three suspected perpetrators RH, MS, and M who were riding a motorcycle rickshaw," Tony explained.

The former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Meranti said that from the interrogation of the three suspected perpetrators admitted that they had committed the theft. The motorcycle rickshaw was used when it committed theft with a number of other colleagues.
"From the statements of the three perpetrators, there were other perpetrators who participated in the theft that night. From that information, the team again arrested three other perpetrators, namely W, AG, and FF continuing to arrest EA and MA," he said.
Now the eight perpetrators have been detained at the Siak Police for further investigation. Some of them are children who are in conflict with the law.
"We will snare them under Article 363 of the Criminal Code on the Crime of Theft by Weighting them with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison. We will develop this case again if later from the information of the alleged perpetrators that we secure, there is the involvement of other perpetrators," said Iptu Tony.
