Heavy Rain And Tornadoes, 8 Houses In Bangka Belitung Reportedly Damaged
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, recorded that eight houses experienced heavy rain damage accompanied by tornadoes. Head of BPBD Bangka Regency, Ridwan stated that eight houses belonging to residents damaged by a tornado disaster in two different sub-districts, namely in Air Jukung Belinyu Village as many as seven units and one housing unit were damaged in Deniang Air Hantu Village, Riau Silip District. "The natural disaster of a tornado accompanied by heavy rain caused residents' houses in two different sub-districts to be heavily damaged and lightly occurred simultaneously," explained Ridwan, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 31, 2023). Even though it did not cause casualties in the natural disaster of a tornado in the Belinyu District and in Riau Silip District, 29 people were affected and material losses reached millions of rupiah. "The unit officers of the BPBD in the field together, village government officials and local residents helped victims clean up building materials debris and install tarpaulins for the temporary roof," he said.
