Corolla Altis Driver Admits To Having Leg Cramps When He Crashes Into A Cyclist In Bintaro
JAKARTA – South Tangerang Police Traffic Accident Unit Head, Ipda Justinus Yunus Kaurmin, said that the sedan car driver who hit a cyclist to death at the Bintaro Regency Villa Complex, Sumatra Street, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, was due to the driver's lack of concentration.
Erwin, the head of the local RT, explained that the perpetrator with the initials SP (46) at that time intended to go to the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) using his Corolla Altis car. However, the victim, a woman with the initials YB (42), suddenly passed by on a bicycle which surprised the perpetrator.
"Residents (the victims) were turning on bicycles, panicking. Maybe because of the gas. On going to the ATM (car driver), look at the bicycle. Crowded conditions, lots of people eating", said Erwin when met at the location, Thursday afternoon, March 16.
Based on the description of the perpetrator, continued Erwin, his legs had muscle spasms or cramps so that without realizing it, the perpetrator actually increased his speed.
"The leg was a bit cramped, according to him he didn't step on the gas. It's called panic, forgetting what to do", he said.
After the incident, SP took the victim to the hospital. However, unfortunately, YB's life died first while on the way.

"The driver also took her to the hospital. Her husband (the victim) met her at the hospital. Seems like a sincere signal. Bicycle and car drivers are both residents here", he concluded.
Monitoring the location, there was no visible police line at the crime scene (TKP). However, there are signs in the form of scribbles that provide clues to the occurrence of an accident.
It seems that the lamppost is still visible at the location with a broken condition at the bottom. It is suspected that the broken pole was the result of being hit by a Corolla Altis car driver.
