4 Mothers In Konawe Arrested While Engaging In Gambling

KENDARI - The Konawe Police, Southeast Sulawesi, arrested four housewives (IRT) who were engrossed in gambling in Puusinawi Village, Wawotobi District.

Head of Ops for the Konawe Police, Kompol Dudi Iswari Rasjid, said the four housewives who were arrested in a house that was often used as a gambling location had the initials JN, MY, UD, and ND respectively.

Dudi explained that the raid was carried out when police officers were carrying out the 2023 Pekat Anoa operation.

"At that time, we received information regarding gambling activities at the TKP (crime scene) which had worried residents. The team moved and immediately arrested the gambling perpetrators," he said as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 8.

As a result of the raid, the police arrested the four perpetrators at the Konawe Police Headquarters, also confiscated a number of pieces of evidence in the form of two sets of playing cards totaling 108 sheets and cash worth IDR 220,000.

Dudi also said that in Operation Pekat Anoa 2023 which will last for a month, the police will target the activities of community diseases that can disturb public security and order (kamtibmas).

"We will target gambling, drugs, sharp weapons, liquor, and other activities that may have the potential to disrupt public order and security in Konawe Regency," he said.
