Windows 11 Update Lets You Add New Tabs In Notepad

JAKARTA - Microsoft has shared several updates that will be coming to Windows 11 in the future. One of them is the improved Notepad feature, which will make work easier.

"For developers out there who like a quick way to capture lines of code for easy reuse, the Windows 11 Notepad app is here for you," said Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer, in a Microsoft blog, quoted on Wednesday, March 1.

If previously Windows 11 users could only use one note for one tab, in a later update Microsoft will allow users to add new tabs, so you can write different posts on the same note.

"We've improved Notepad, bringing tabs to the app experience. Notepad tabs will provide a quick and easy way to keep your data organized and let you switch between notes so you can create code that is ready to compile without formatting issues," he explains.

Limited testing the first time in January for Windows Insiders, when it launches later, to add a new tab to Notepad, you just need to open the Notepad app and click on the Plus (+) icon as you would see in a typical browser.

The Notepad update has now rolled out to Windows 11, with the latest 22H2 update first. It's one of several features Microsoft recently released for everyone in Windows 11, including Bing AI in the taskbar and screen recording in the Snipping Tool.

"We believe the world is a better place when everyone can participate, so we continue to make Windows 11 the most accessible version of Windows," concluded Panay.
