Voices Of Indonesian Consumers Who Have Been Left Closed By Favorite E-Commerce Companies

JAKARTA – Electronic trading company (e-commerce) JD.ID, which has declared to close its business activities in Indonesia, seems to be extending a line of similar businesses that have previously resigned.

The editors noted that there were at least six other e-commerce companies that were forced to go out of business due to the intense business competition in this sector. These entities are Blanja.com, Elevenia, Qlapa, Rakuten, Cipika, Multiply.

In particular JD.ID, the entity from China announced the closure of business activities in early 2023. This is quite surprising because JD.ID is known to have a fairly large consumer base thanks to a number of promotional programs offered. The company is also noted to have a large number of employees, namely around 200 people.

However, the feeling of loss is not only experienced by employees, but also loyal users of the 4.0 technology shopping service. Consumers responded to the announcement of the closure of JD.ID via social media.

"Thank you, JD.ID for becoming my subscription, I buy electronics monthly. Fast delivery and free postage. Hope we can meet again," wrote the Twitter account @rifainanang18, quoted on Tuesday, February 21.

In the same vein, on the Instagram social media platform, the @muthia_park account said that the guarantee facility for authentic goods is a distinct advantage for JD.ID.

"The goods are almost two years old and still durable. Very sad to have to close. Hopefully, we can open again. Thank's a lot,” she said.

Responding to this, JD.ID Corporate Communications Setya Yudha Indraswara emphasized that all company services would be discontinued at the end of March 2023.

"This is a strategic decision from management to focus on building a cross-country supply chain network, with logistics and warehousing as the core business," said Setya.

Previously, on January 30, 2023, JD.ID through its official website announced that it would stop its services on March 31.

JD.ID gives time for all user partners and sellers to complete their transactions until the end of March 2023.
