Bali is Increasingly Crowded, The Nusa Dua Area's Occupancy Rate Reaches 64.61 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Indonesia Tourism Development (Persero) or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) noted that the occupancy rate or average occupancy rate for The Nusa Dua Bali area, in the first month of January 2023, reached 64.61 per cent.

General Manager of The Nusa Dua I Gusti Ngurah Ardita said this figure had increased by 200 per cent compared to the average occupancy rate in the January 2022 period which was only 20.15 per cent.

"This figure also shows that the area's occupancy is maintained above 60 per cent for seven consecutive months since July 2022", he said in an official statement, quoted Monday, February 20.

Ardita said the Water Blow Tourism Destination Area (DTW), Peninsula The Nusa Dua, also recorded visits of 4,887 people during January 2023, an increase of 77 per cent compared to visits in the January 2022 period of 2,765 people.

Furthermore, Ardita assessed that the revival of the tourism sector, as seen from the large number of tourists travelling on tours, had a positive impact on the ITDC area.

"We also believe that the increase in tourist visits to The Nusa Dua was driven by attractive promos prepared by area tenants during the 2023 New Year holiday period and last Chinese New Year holidays, as well as several MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition) activities which are believed to be held in The Nusa Dua area", he said.

Ardita said several events had also been successfully held at The Nusa Dua including New Year's Day at the Bali Collection, the 7th IEEE Global EMC Conference, several corporate gatherings, gala dinners, and university graduation activities.

Meanwhile, for the period 1 to 12 February, said Ardita, the occupancy rate of Nusa Dua had recorded 54.80 per cent, influenced by tourism activities taking place in The Nusa Dua area including several MICE activities such as the ASEAN Task Force Meeting, ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting. Working Group.

"And the music event 'TULUS Tour Manusia' which approximately 4,000 spectators attended", he said.

Meanwhile in March, said Ardita, two prestigious music events have been scheduled to take place on Peninsula Island, namely Thank God It's Festival (TGIF) feat. UNIVLOX on March 4, 2023, and Joyland Festival on March 17 to 19, 2023.

"Seeing the increasing increase in tourism activities at this time, we hope that the occupancy rate in the area in the following month can reach the number we expect", he said.

Apart from continuing to strive to improve service standards so that tourists feel safe and comfortable visiting and enjoying facilities in the area, said Ardita, ITDC also invites all tenants in the area to be able to provide attractive promos for tourists.

"As well as opening opportunities for collaboration with tourism actors to hold events in The Nusa Dua area. Hopefully, the tourism sector will rise and positively impact all of us", concluded Ardita.
