Riau Governor Reminds SKK Migas To Pay Attention To Workers' Safety

PEKANBARU - Governor of Riau Syamsuar reminded the Special Task Force (SKK) of Oil and Gas together with the Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) of the Riau Region to pay attention to the safety of workers so that this does not happen again as happened to the victim DS (22) who died.

"The company must carry out standard operating procedures and we have asked SKK Migas to carry out supervision," said Riau Governor Syamsuar at a coordination meeting with SKK Migas and all PSC Contractors for the Riau region in Pekanbaru, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 8.

Syamsuar said that these companies had made improvements so that in the future work accidents would not happen to workers.

He said, apart from relating to performance, he also continued to supervise the implementation of the SOP for the workforce in the work area.

In contrast to the atmosphere of the previous meeting, when Governor Riau delivered the report, it was started by leading a prayer for workers who had died.

Meanwhile, the Head of SKK Migas Representative Office for North Sumatra, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus, said that he hoped that the Upstream Oil and Gas workers would get the best place by His side.

"We pray that the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry in 2023, in addition to achieving the desired target, will also be given health and safety for workers," he said.

Rikky emphasized that the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry always prioritizes conditions of security, health and safety of workers in their working areas.
