NTB Regional Police Name Police as Drug Case Suspects

MATARAM - Investigators at the Narcotics Research Directorate of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (NTB) have named a police officer with the initials R as a suspect in the alleged drug trafficking case in Bima City.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the NTB Regional Police, Commissioner Artanto, confirmed that the decision was by the results of the advanced case.

"Yes, we have named R as a suspect", said Artanto as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 26.

By naming R as a suspect, he continued, three suspects have been identified in the case of drug trafficking in Bima City.

"So, now there are three suspects", he said.

Previously, investigators named two suspects with the initials NA and F who were caught in possession of methamphetamine weighing 8.92 grams.

The methamphetamine in 10 packages of plastic clips was confiscated in a raid on the car that NA was traveling in on the Ranggo highway, Nae Village, Bima City, on November 5, 2022.

Later it was revealed that R and F were the parties suspected of framing NA. This was also revealed from the confession of a woman with the initials H. To the police, H admitted that he was ordered by R and F to put methamphetamine under the carpet of the car seat NA was traveling in.

The police are investigating this case based on the results of scientific crime investigation (scientific-based investigation). The results of the investigation revealed the role of the suspects.

As suspects, F, R, and NA are charged with Article 112 paragraph 2 and/or Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of RI Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
