The Leaked Two New WhatsApp Features, Users Can Block Unsaved Contacts from Notifications
JAKARTA - WhatsApp for Android will soon get two new features that can improve the overall user experience.
The new feature was leaked by WABetaInfo, the first feature is the option to block contacts directly from message notification pop-ups that appear on the cellphone screen, and the second feature offers separate tabs for taking photos and recording videos from within the application.
Currently, if a user wants to block a contact on WhatsApp, they have to go through the app, select a chat, tap on the contact's information, then select the option to block the contact.
This method, perhaps according to some people the process is too long, which is why WhatsApp is trying to offer the option to block contacts directly from unwanted message notification pop-ups.
The new feature will make it easier for users to block contacts. However, this option will only appear for contacts that are not saved on their device thus avoiding users blocking contacts by mistake.

Then the second feature, when users want to record videos or take photos on WhatsApp currently, they have to press or hold the same camera shutter button with a different style.
Unfortunately, this method can be quite inconvenient if users want to record long videos, quoted from SamMobile, Tuesday, January 17. Now, WhatsApp is testing a new feature that offers different tabs for taking photos and recording videos.
So, when users want to record a video, they can select a video mode in the viewfinder and press the record button just once.
The two features were spotted in different beta builds. Camera mode feature in beta version v2.22.24.21. Meanwhile, quick blocks can be found in v2.23.2.5 and this feature is currently in the testing phase. It's expected that both features will roll out to the stable version of the app in the next few months.
