Beware! AhnLab Warns Hackers Have Planted Malware in NFT Games
JAKARTA - Hackers are known to hide malware in fake NFT games. Cybersecurity firm AhnLab, warned a phishing website purporting to offer Pokémon-branded nonfungible token (NFT) playing cards had spread malware to unsuspecting players.
The website, which while still online, also claims to offer an NFT marketplace, with links to buy tokens, and even an area to stake NFTs, all based on a popular Japanese media franchise.
However, South Korean cybersecurity firm AhnLab warned the public about the website on January 6, noting that instead of downloading games, users are actually downloading remote access tools that allow hackers to take control of their devices.

According to AhnLab, the tool, known as NetSupport Manager, will allow attackers to remotely control a computer's mouse and keyboard, access system file management and history and even execute commands that allow them to install additional malware.
People are advised to only purchase or download applications from official websites and not open suspicious attachments in emails.
