KKB Leaders Nelson Mimin Burns Schools and Shoots Planes in Oksibil, Mountains of Stars
JAYAPURA - The armed criminal group (KJB) led by Nelson Mimin, set fire to a school and shot down an airplane in Oksibil, Gunung Bintang Regency, Papua.
"The school that was set on fire was SMKN 1 Oksibil School and shot planes that were about to land so they immediately returned to Tanah Merah", said Danrem 172/PWY Brigadier General TNI JO Sembiring, reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 9.
Head of the Oksibil Airport Management Unit (UPBU) Agus Hadi separately said the shooting was reported when the plane with flight number PK-HVV was at the holding point before landing at Oksibil Airport and reported being shot in the fuselage.
As a result, the plane immediately returned to Tanah Merah, Boven Digul Regency.
"It is not yet known which part was hit by the shot because the plane immediately returned to Tanah Merah", said Agus Hadi.

The shooting took place at the end of the airport and as a result of the shooting the plane was not allowed to fly.
"However, when the security forces declared it clear, the planes at the airport flew back to Jayapura, and airport operations remained open", said the Head of UPBU Oksibil, Agus Hadi.
