Pekanbaru City Produces 750 Tons Of Garbage Per Day
RIAU - The Pekanbaru City Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) has prepared two trash bins in each kelurahan.
Head of DLHK Pekanbaru Hendra Apriadi said the effort was to support the handling of waste in Pekanbaru which reaches 750 tons per day.
"After the trash bin is installed, supervision so that residents are disciplined in disposing of garbage in the bin is handed over to community leaders, RT heads and RW heads," he said in Pekanbaru, Riau, as quoted from Antara, Monday, November 7.
He explained that the city government allocated a budget for the procurement of urban garbage bins in 2023 to facilitate the transportation of waste and at the same time overcome the problem of garbage accumulation.

According to him, the average waste entering the Muara Fajar Final Processing Site (TPA) in Rumbai is around 750 tons per day.
"Approximately 200 tons per day are still not transported to the landfill," he said.
In order to transport residents' waste to the TPA, he said, the Pekanbaru City Government has 20 garbage trucks, four arm roll trucks, six pickup trucks, one loading device, and three motorized tricycles.
The acting Mayor of Pekanbaru Muflihun has asked DLHK to innovate to improve waste management, including exploring the possibility of collaborating with other parties in transporting waste from settlements, shops and factories.
