Found Dead in His Home, No Details on Cause of Death of Pop Singer Aaron Carter

JAKARTA - Pop singer from the United States, Aaron Carter died on Saturday local time. He is 34 years old.

Representatives from Carter's management team confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the younger brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter was found dead at his home in Lancaster, California. However, there are no reports regarding the cause of death.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told THR that the suspicious death occurred at Carter's residential address, but could not confirm the identity of the person who died.

Born in Tampa, Florida, on December 7, 1987, Carter made his debut in the music industry when opening the Backstreet Boys tour in 1997. His debut album, Aaron Carter, was released at the end of the same year when he was just 9 years old. The album also achieved gold status.

His next album, Aaron's Party (Come and Get It), was released in September 2000 and went triple-platinum. The album featured the singles "I Want Candy," "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" and "That's How I Beat Shaq" which was followed up by promotion of the album as the opening act for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears on the Oops!… I Did It Again tour.

His third album, Oh Aaron, released in 2001 went platinum. And since then, he has released two albums of which the most recent was Love in 2018.

Carter has also dabbled in acting, appearing in shows such as

Lizzie McGuire, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and 7th Heaven and in films such as Fat Albert (2004) and Supercross (2005) starring Channing Tatum.

She made her Broadway debut in 2001 as JoJo the Who in Seussical the Musical and has long been a cast member in the Broadway production of The Fantasticks.

It didn't stop there, Carter also made many unscripted TV appearances, including starring in the series E! House of Carters in 2006 with Nick and their brothers B.J., Leslie and Angel Carter. Leslie died of a drug overdose in January 2012 at the age of 25.
