Minister Zainudin Amali Meets Jokowi, Report on PSSI KLB and 2023 U-20 World Cup

JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali, meets President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Merdeka Palace, Tuesday, November 1. He reported some agenda.

One of them is the plan of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to speed up the extraordinary congress (KLB). The Minister of Youth and Sports reiterated that the government would not interfere.

"The government is in a position not to interfere, let alone intervene in the implementation of the outbreak that has been decided by PSSI because it is their domain. Please carry out according to what has been decided", said the Minister of Youth and Sports as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Tuesday, November 1.

PSSI has sent a letter to FIFA regarding the acceleration of the outbreak. This agenda is scheduled to take place on March 18, 2023.

In addition to the PSSI KLB, the Menpora also reported on Indonesia's preparations to host the 2023 U-20 World Cup. During the meeting, President Jokowi wanted to ensure the readiness of the venues to be used in the U-20 World Cup.

"Earlier, the President also asked about the readiness of the venues which will soon be renovated because FIFA wants all major venues and training fields to be repaired, but not only major and minor", said Minister Amali.

Currently, the venue for the U-20 World Cup which is still under renovation is the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium. The renovation process received direct assistance from FIFA.
