Wants To Appear At The Hylo Open Although He Hasn't Recovered, Jojo: "So Far My Condition Is Better"
JAKARTA - The Indonesian men's singles badminton player, Jonatan Christie, intends to continue to appear in the Hylo Open 2022 tournament in Germany even though the condition of his right ankle has not fully recovered from the injury.
According to Jonatan, his leg is feeling better and it doesn't hurt too much after picking up the injury he sustained during the quarter-finals of the French Open in Paris on Friday.
"So far my condition is better, it doesn't hurt as much as yesterday. I've had therapy and so on. I'm grateful I didn't suffer a serious injury," Jonatan said as quoted by Antara, Monday.
Jonatan got an ankle injury after hitting hard and forcing him to take the ball in front of the net against Japanese badminton player Kodai Naraoka.
The decision to "retired" was taken jointly between coaches Irwansyah and Jonatan, with the aim that the injuries suffered were not allowed to be too severe if forced to continue competing.
Jojo will try to recover from his injury so that he can appear in the BWF Super 300 category tournament which will take place on November 1-6 in the City of Saarbrucken.

"I will do several ways so that my ankle injury does not hurt and can later play in the next tournament," Jonatan explained.
For Jonatan Hylo Open is an important agenda despite being at the Super 300 level because it is expected to increase the acquisition of points for participating in the World Tour Finals (WTF) tournament.
Jonathan will continue to monitor his physical condition to ensure that he competes in Germany or not. He also has high hopes to appear considering the potential points gained from the Hylo Open are quite important to qualify for the year-end tournament.
"Actually, we still don't know whether to play in the Hylo Open 2022 or not, because the tournament is important to get points for the World Tour Finals," concluded Jonatan.
