Defeat Representative Korea, Fajar/Rian Qualify for the Top Eight of Denmark Open 2022
JAKARTA - Men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto confirmed themselves to the quarter-finals of the Denmark Open 2022 after defeating Korean representatives, Choi Sol Gyu/Kim Won Ho.
Playing at Jyske Bank Arena, Thursday, October 20 at noon WIB, Fajar/Rian made sure to qualify after locking the victory in two straight games with identical scores 21-17 and 21-17.
The first set was very tight. The two pairs chased each other's numbers until Fajar/Rian led a narrow two-point lead at the interval.
After that, the Korean pair continued to pursue and managed to identify the score 15-15. However, they were forced by Fajar/Rian to only produce two points after that.
At the beginning of the second game, Fajar/Rian trailed 1-4 behind their opponents. The Korean representatives were then forced to play tight before winning again by four points during the break.
The two pairs took turns producing numbers after the position was equally strong 14-14. However, Fajar/Rian managed to score four points 17-17 to ensure themselves to the quarter-finals.
Fajar/Rian became Indonesia's first representative to qualify for the quarter-finals of the seven representatives scheduled to play today. The men's doubles number can add tickets if the other four representatives also win.
