Beat 2 Brazilian National Team Goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois Received Yashin Trophy 2022

JAKARTA - Thibaut Courtois received the 2022 Yashin Trophy after being selected as the best goalkeeper for the 2021/22 season.

The award came one day after he missed Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Barcelona at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu through injury.

Courtois was the star of the Champions League final against Liverpool, as in that game he was almost alone keeping his team in the game with some brilliant saves.

To win this year's Yashin Trophy, the Belgian goalkeeper had to compete with other outstanding goalkeepers such as Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (Germany), Alisson (Brazil), Ederson (Brazil) and Jan Oblak (Slovenia).

"I want to thank my team because thanks to them I was able to win this trophy," Courtois told Marca.

"I want to remember my family and my children for the support I have received from them throughout the years."
