Remote Working Becomes Sandiaga Uno's Tips For Facing Economic Crisis
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno conveyed the mandate that had been expressed by President Joko Widodo regarding economic conditions. In particular, the warning will be wary of the threat of a recession.
Sandiaga Uno said that currently the economy is currently in a difficult situation, and next year will be a dark year.
"The President has always said that currently the economy is currently difficult and next year will be dark. We have to define what dark is. Dark is defined as turbulence, worrying about the circumstances around us," said Sandiaga Uno in a written statement, Monday, October 17, 2022.
Sandiaga Uno is of the view that to deal with the threat of a recession, the way that can be anticipated is by strengthening the MSME sector. The strengthening is also according to Sandiaga Uno in line with the pandemic transition to endemic.
"The COVID-19 pandemic is in transition, there must be strengthening, because 97 percent of the jobs are from MSMEs, so the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy strengthens the MSME sector," said Sandiaga.
Sandiaga assessed that the strengthening of MSMEs could be a bulwark for the situation caused by global geopolitical dynamics. According to him, the pattern of economic growth must focus on fiscal stimulus and the transition to clean energy.
On the other hand, he asked the tourism sector actors to adapt. Sandiaga mentioned the need for the concept of personalization, customization, and quality improvement.
