COVID-19 Update as of October 8: Cases Increase by 1,325 from 43,679 Specimens Examined
JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. Of the 43,678 specimens examined, 1,325 new positive cases were added.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,443,949 people and active cases have fallen by 222 to 16,489 cases", said data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Saturday, October 8.
Today's recovered cases increased by 1,549 cases, bringing the total to 6,269,262 people recovered. Then, there were 6 positive confirmed deaths and a total of 158,198 people.
The province with the highest number of new cases is DKI Jakarta with 500 cases and a total of 1,430,421 cases. Followed by West Java with 206 new cases with a total of 1,182,124 cases.
East Java has 180 new cases and a total of 606,764 cases. Then, Banten with 110 new cases and a total of 338,344 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 787 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 186 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 142 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 97 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 109,176,268.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 5.95 percent", it wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 2,179 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 204,678,004 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,310,100 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 64,0007,521 and the fourth dose was 637,648. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
