Refrigerator Exports Make It Cool, Last Year Reached 374 Million Dollars: Middle East Becomes Big Market
JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Industry said that refrigerator products are one of the goods that have a high export value and are Indonesia's mainstay in international trade.
Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, said that this can be seen from the export achievements throughout last year which made positive results.
"In 2021, the export value of our refrigerators will be US$ 374.4 million. This high export value has penetrated various world markets, especially to the Middle East such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Oman", he said in a press statement, Monday, September 26 when releasing the first export of PT Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia (PMI) refrigerators to Cambodia.
According to the Minister of Industry, in addition to the large Middle East market, Indonesia's refrigerator products have also managed to enter Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Myanmar the Americas, and Europe.

"The receipt of Indonesian refrigerator products is proof that the quality of the electronic works of the nation's children has been recognized by the international market", he said.
The Minister of Industry added that exports of finished goods clearly provide a positive multiplier effect for the national economy. This is because domestic production activities can absorb labor and encourage the progress of other derivative industries.
“Various policies to increase utility and maintain the industrial business climate have been issued. One of the programs currently running at the Ministry of Industry is the commodity balance", he said.
