Members Of Papuan People's Assembly Ask Lukas Enembe To Cooperatively Go Through Legal Process At KPK
JAKARTA - Papua Governor Lukas Enembe and his lawyer were asked to cooperate with the ongoing legal process at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This step must be taken to make clear the allegations of corruption that ensnared him.
"Let's give support to Lukas Enembe to undergo the legal process. Lukas Enembe must cooperate with the legal process so that it runs smoothly," said member of the Papuan People's Council (MRP) Dorince Mehue in a written statement, Monday, September 26.
Dorince said the KPK and the Financial Transaction Analysis Reporting Center (PPATK) continued to receive support to investigate the alleged corruption that ensnared Lukas. These two institutions are believed to have evidence of the presumptuous practice of the Governor of Papua.
The Papuan people are asked not to be provoked by untrue information. Dorince said that all parties should guard the allegations of corruption that developed in gambling where the money was allegedly derived from the proceeds of racist practices.
Moreover, Papua will host a national event, namely the Indigenous Peoples Congress of the Archipelago on October 23-30. Thus, the security situation on Earth of Cendrawasih must be maintained.
"People in Papua should maintain regional stability and security and order, and not create provocative content and not be provoked by news circulating in the community," he stressed.
As previously reported, Lukas Enembe will be called up again for the second time on Monday, September 26. On the first call, the Governor of Papua was not present due to illness.
However, his attorney, Stefanus Roy Rening, stated that the client would not attend due to illness on Monday, September 26. This was conveyed by him when he came to the KPK's Red and White Building on Friday, September 23.
"You are not allowed to attend on Monday. So we ask that the Governor be cooperative, so we come early to convey this because the doctor's health development according to the doctor has decreased a bit," he said at that time.
In addition, he also asked Lukas to be allowed to go to Singapore for treatment. This governor had a stroke and claimed he could not speak.

Stefanus even specifically asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to give permission. Moreover, Luke's current condition is called worrisome.
"With the poor condition, with the governor's health condition, on behalf of the legal team, I ask President Jokowi to give him permission for treatment abroad," he said.
"Our legal team views that if these steps are not taken by the state, the atmosphere in Papua will be not harmonious," concluded Stefanus.
