Anti-Stalker! This Is How To Use Email Protection From DuckDuckGo
JAKARTA - DuckDuckGo is best known for having a search engine that prioritizes privacy since its appearance in 2008, and now the company is turning its attention to email protection.
Now DuckDuckGo has an Email Protection service, so users can have an @duck.com email address that can be used as a buffer between their primary email inbox and the outside world.
In addition to forwarding incoming messages to the primary email address, DuckDuckGo Email Protection removes any tracking technology that is often embedded in email, notifying the sender when and where the recipient viewed the message, and even knowing what links were clicked.
What's more, users can also use this service to create email aliases to use when filling out forms on the web, and then delete them if they attract too much spam or ads.
Interested in using the DuckDuckGo Email Protection service? Here's a row of ways you should try, quoted from Wired, Monday, September 19.
1. Download the DuckDuckGo Email Protection app first on your Android or iOS phone.
2. Then, with the browser tab open tap the three-dot menu, then select Settings and Email Protection. After that, tap Get Started and then follow the prompts to choose your @duck.com address and specify which email address to forward.
3. After selecting your address, it will start appearing automatically in the form in DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser.
4. If you need to enter your account settings from within the app, tap on the three-dot menu button, then Settings and Email Protection, this time you will be taken to your email settings. Under Account, you can change your forwarding address.
5. Tap Autofill, and also look at your primary (public) DuckDuckGo email address, you will see a private DuckDuckGo address has been created for you.

6. Tap Copy if you want to use it in a web form, or Generate Private Duck Address if you need to create something else. The same forwarding rules apply to your personal email address and your public email address, but they are easier to discard.
7. You can also use DuckDuckGo Email Protection on a desktop web browser, but you will need the DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials extension for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge installed.
In addition to giving you access to your email address and settings, the add-on helps you search anonymously on the web, block hidden trackers on websites, and increase the security of site connections.
