In Honor For Queen Elizabeth II, David Beckham Willing To Queue For 13 Hours
JAKARTA - British football legend David Beckham is willing to queue with the general public for at least 13 hours to pay homage to the body of Queen Elizabeth II who died last week.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player was seen at Westminster Hall, where the body of Elizabeth II lies, at around 3:25 p.m. on Friday, September 16 afternoon local time.
According to a CBS report, Beckham was seen joining the queue with thousands of people lining the streets of London. In fact, he could actually use his status as a celebrity to avoid waiting in line.
The former Premier League icon told the media that he started queuing around 02:15 local time. He was then only able to enter and see the body of the Queen 13 hours later.
"We all want to be here together, we all want to feel something where we celebrate the life of our extraordinary Queen. You know things like this today have a purpose to be able to share," said Beckham.
Beckham comes with a dominant dark blue suit and flat cap. He mingled with the general public and even took his time to take pictures with them.
Beckham said that despite being in line for more than 12 hours, his knee is fine. However, he didn't feel the same feeling on his back because of his current age.
