Minister of Transportation Ensures Kertajati Airport is Ready to Serve Passenger Flights in November 2022
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, said Kertajati Airport is preparing to serve commercial passenger flights. The flight is planned to be carried out in November-December 2022.
Furthermore, Budi said that his party had also coordinated with domestic airlines. In this case, Garuda Indonesia Group and Lion Air Group. For the first phase, said Budi, there will be four flights.
"For the preparation, we have coordinated with several airlines, namely Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air. Insha Allah, for the first time, there will be four flights", he said in an official statement, Friday, September 16.
Furthermore, Budi said that in December, the number of flights will be increased to eight flights. "There are at least two or two flights for Umrah", said Budi.
In his review, the Minister of Transportation Budi also invited the Danish Ambassador to Indonesia Lars Bo Larsen to see firsthand the activities at Kertajati Airport.
"Now I show the Ambassador that Kertajati Airport is also preparing to improve air connectivity", he said.

After being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, said Budi, the Ministry of Transportation together with aviation stakeholders has made recovery efforts by opening commercial flights from Kertajati Airport to several areas such as Kalimantan and Bali.
"We are also waiting for the connection of the toll road from Bandung in October. Insha Allah, in December Kertajati Airport, will start to get crowded", he said.
Aircraft Maintenance Center
Budi said this international airport will be more complete because currently it has consistently served cargo flights, and later an aircraft maintenance center or Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) will be built.
Furthermore, Budi explained that Kertajati, together with Patimban and Cirebon, are triangular areas in West Java with great potential as industrial areas.
"The industrial estate development that will be carried out here will provide support for the performance of the Patimban Port and Kertajati Airport", he said.
